Description

Easy Sweet and Sour Chicken is a delightful dish that brings the authentic flavors of Chinese cuisine right to your home in just 15 minutes.


Ingredients

  • 1.25 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts (cut into 1-inch pieces)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper and coat with cornstarch.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat; cook chicken until golden brown (about 5-7 minutes), then set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, combine sugar, vinegar, ketchup, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, cold water, and cornstarch; stir until thickened (about 2-3 minutes).
  4. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet; toss until evenly coated with sauce and heated through (about 1 minute).
  5. Serve hot over rice or noodles, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
