Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup warm whole milk
  • 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries (chopped)
  • 8 oz softened cream cheese
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sifted powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk and sprinkle yeast on top; let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes). Combine flour, sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl; add melted butter and eggs. Gradually pour in the yeast mixture while stirring to form a soft dough.
  2. Knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled.
  4. Meanwhile, mix chopped strawberries with softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick; spread filling evenly over it and roll tightly into a log. Slice into pieces about 1-2 inches thick.
  6. Place cut pieces on a greased baking sheet cut side up; cover and let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
