Ingredients

  • 330 g self-raising flour
  • 360 g granulated sugar
  • 360 g salted butter
  • 6 eggs
  • 30 g unsweetened black cocoa powder
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 90 ml milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 400 g powdered sugar
  • 1¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp milk or cream (optional)
  • Electric green food coloring (to taste)
  • 250 g Orange fondant
  • 200 g Black fondant
  • 1 tbsp CMC powder
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition.
  3. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt together. Gradually add to the wet mixture along with milk until just combined.
  4. Pour batter into greased baking pans and bake for about 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Allow cakes to cool completely before crumbling into jars.
  6. Make the buttercream by beating softened butter and gradually adding powdered sugar until creamy. Mix in vanilla and green food coloring.
  7. Layer crumbled cake and buttercream in individual jars and decorate with fondant.
