- 330 g self-raising flour
- 360 g granulated sugar
- 360 g salted butter
- 6 eggs
- 30 g unsweetened black cocoa powder
- 1½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 90 ml milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 400 g powdered sugar
- 1¼ tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp milk or cream (optional)
- Electric green food coloring (to taste)
- 250 g Orange fondant
- 200 g Black fondant
- 1 tbsp CMC powder
- Sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt together. Gradually add to the wet mixture along with milk until just combined.
- Pour batter into greased baking pans and bake for about 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow cakes to cool completely before crumbling into jars.
- Make the buttercream by beating softened butter and gradually adding powdered sugar until creamy. Mix in vanilla and green food coloring.
- Layer crumbled cake and buttercream in individual jars and decorate with fondant.
