  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch, dissolved in 1 tablespoon water
  • Sliced green onions
  • Sesame seeds
  • Fresh pineapple chunks

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for about 20 minutes until cooked through.
  5. While baking, prepare the sauce by simmering ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, and soy sauce in a saucepan until smooth.
  6. Add the baked meatballs to the sauce and coat evenly before serving.
