Ingredients
- 8 cups water (divided)
- 8 black tea bags
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 4 cups chopped strawberries
- 1½ cups granulated sugar
Instructions
- Boil 2 cups of water in a medium saucepan.
- Remove from heat and steep tea bags for 5 minutes.
- Remove tea bags, squeezing out excess liquid.
- Combine brewed tea with 4 cups of water and baking soda in a large pitcher.
- In the same saucepan, simmer remaining water with strawberries and sugar for 20 minutes.
- Cool the syrup and strain through a fine mesh sieve into the pitcher with tea.
