Instructions

  2. Blend half of the strawberries to make puree; reserve some for glaze.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy, then add eggs one at a time.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking soda.
  5. Mix buttermilk, vanilla, strawberry extract, and puree in a separate bowl.
  6. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Pour batter into the pan and bake for about 70 minutes or until done.
