Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup diced jalapeños (fresh or pickled)
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce (for topping)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine both types of ground beef.
- Add breadcrumbs and mix well until incorporated.
- Pour in milk and mix until combined.
- Crack in the egg and stir until blended.
- Add garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper; mix until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix cream cheese, cheddar cheese, diced jalapeños, and cilantro until smooth.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease your loaf pan.
- Press half of the meat mixture into the bottom of the pan or onto the baking sheet.
- Spread the jalapeño cheese mixture over this layer.
- Top with remaining meat mixture, sealing all edges well.
- Brush barbecue sauce on top of the loaf.
- Bake for about 1 hour or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
