  • 2 lb thinly sliced sirloin steak or boneless beef chuck roast
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 1/2 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp cornstarch
  • 4 tbsp water
  • 1 bag (12 oz) frozen broccoli florets
  • Cooked white rice (optional for serving)

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef into thin strips and mince the garlic.
  2. In a bowl, mix beef stock, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and garlic until well combined.
  3. Add the sliced beef to the slow cooker and pour the sauce mixture over it.
  4. Cover and cook on low for about 5 hours or high for about 3 hours until tender.
  5. To thicken the sauce, mix cornstarch with water in a small bowl and stir into the slow cooker about 30 minutes before serving.
  6. Add frozen broccoli during the last 15 minutes of cooking.
  7. Serve hot over cooked white rice if desired.
