Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 8 slices provolone cheese (4 for filling, 4 for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat; sauté diced bell pepper and onion for about 5 minutes until softened.
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Press half the meat mixture into a loaf pan. Layer with 4 slices of provolone cheese followed by sautéed veggies. Top with remaining meat mixture and seal edges.
- Bake for 45–50 minutes; add remaining cheese on top during the last 5 minutes until melted.
- Let rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
