  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 slices provolone cheese (4 for filling, 4 for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat; sauté diced bell pepper and onion for about 5 minutes until softened.
  3. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  4. Press half the meat mixture into a loaf pan. Layer with 4 slices of provolone cheese followed by sautéed veggies. Top with remaining meat mixture and seal edges.
  5. Bake for 45–50 minutes; add remaining cheese on top during the last 5 minutes until melted.
  6. Let rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
