Ingredients

  • 3 ripe peaches, pitted and sliced
  • 8 cups water
  • 4 black tea bags
  • 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine sliced peaches, 1 cup of water, and sugar. Boil over medium-high heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes until soft.
  2. Cool slightly and blend the peach mixture until smooth. Strain if desired.
  3. Boil the remaining 7 cups of water in a large pot and steep black tea bags for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Remove tea bags and let the tea cool to room temperature.
  5. Mix cooled tea with peach syrup in a pitcher; add lemon juice if using.
  6. Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving over ice with optional garnishes.
