Ingredients
- 3 ½ to 4 ½ pound beef brisket (flat cut)
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoons black pepper
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ½ teaspoon ground cumin
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300°F.
- Trim the brisket fat cap to about ¼-inch.
- In a small bowl, mix all spices together and rub evenly over the brisket.
- Place brisket in a large baking pan, fat side up. Pour Worcestershire sauce and BBQ sauce over it.
- Cover tightly with foil and bake for 2 hours without opening the oven.
- After 2 hours, flip the brisket, cover again with foil, and continue baking for an additional 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours until tender.
- Once done, let the brisket rest for a few minutes before slicing against the grain.
