  • 3 ½ to 4 ½ pound beef brisket (flat cut)
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F.
  2. Trim the brisket fat cap to about ¼-inch.
  3. In a small bowl, mix all spices together and rub evenly over the brisket.
  4. Place brisket in a large baking pan, fat side up. Pour Worcestershire sauce and BBQ sauce over it.
  5. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 2 hours without opening the oven.
  6. After 2 hours, flip the brisket, cover again with foil, and continue baking for an additional 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours until tender.
  7. Once done, let the brisket rest for a few minutes before slicing against the grain.
