Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 8 oz. sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 cups chicken broth
- 8 oz. uncooked elbow macaroni
- 1 cup yellow onion, diced
- 1 cup sliced carrots
- 1 cup sliced celery
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Spread cubed sesame seed buns on the baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and bake for about 10 minutes until crispy.
- In a large pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef with seasoning (oregano, thyme, salt, pepper). Remove and set aside.
- In the same pot, melt butter and sauté onions, carrots, and celery until soft (about 10 minutes).
- Add minced garlic and cook for another minute before stirring in flour to thicken.
- Deglaze with a splash of chicken broth; then add remaining broth and uncooked macaroni.
- Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5-7 minutes until pasta is al dente.
- Stir in heavy cream and cheese until melted; return beef to the pot and heat through.
