  • 2 mild sausages (casings removed)

  • 1/3 cup Ditalini pasta
  • 1/2 can red kidney beans
  • 1/2 can white beans
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/4 tsp celery seed
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, brown the sausages; break apart with a wooden spoon until cooked through.
  2. Add the diced onion, carrot, and minced garlic; sauté until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the broth, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and ketchup; mix well.
  4. Add both types of beans and seasonings; combine thoroughly.
  5. Bring to a boil; add the Ditalini pasta and reduce heat to simmer for about 10 minutes until tender.
  6. Adjust seasonings if necessary and serve hot.
