  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon ground coriander
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (if desired)
  • Salt and ground black pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 8 corn tortillas
  • Sour cream (for topping)
  • Guacamole (for topping)
  • Cotija cheese (for topping)
  • Salsa (for topping)
  • Pickled red onions (for topping)
  • Chopped cilantro (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat the sirloin dry and cut it into bite-sized cubes.
  2. In a bowl, mix chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, brown sugar, oregano, coriander, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if desired), salt, and pepper. Coat the steak cubes with vegetable oil and spice mixture; let marinate for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat and sear the steak for 1-2 minutes on each side until browned (about 3-5 minutes total).
  4. Warm tortillas in another skillet or microwave. Assemble tacos by placing cooked steak on tortillas and adding desired toppings.
