- 1/4 cup raw or turbinado sugar (for sprinkling)
- 2 large honey crisp apples (peeled and diced small)
- 3 tablespoons salted butter
- 2 tablespoons bourbon whiskey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 18 oz fresh blackberries
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the dough by mixing flour, sugar, and salt in a stand mixer; add cold butter until crumbly. Gradually incorporate ice water until it forms a ball.
- Chill the dough for at least one hour.
- For the filling, sauté diced apples in butter, then add bourbon, vanilla, cinnamon, and brown sugar; cook until syrupy.
- Roast blackberries with sugar until thickened.
- Roll out dough, cut into pumpkin shapes, and cut faces on half.
- Fill uncut shapes with apple and blackberry fillings, top with face cutouts, seal edges with a fork.
- Bake at 375°F for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
