  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (whipped)
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter and eggs until creamy. Add vanilla and mix well.
  4. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients until smooth.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. While cooling, prepare the topping by heating honey with sliced almonds in a saucepan until toasted.
  7. Once cooled, slice the cake in half horizontally, layer it with whipped cream, and top with the almond mixture.
