  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups + 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (for frosting)
  • 34 cups confectioner’s sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 teaspoons cherry extract
  • 23 tablespoons almond milk or cream
  • 23 tablespoons maraschino cherry juice
  • 23 drops pink food gel
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and stir in vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually combine with wet ingredients.
  4. Spread the dough evenly in the prepared pan and bake for about 12 minutes until golden on top.
  5. While cooling, prepare the cherry buttercream by beating softened butter and gradually adding sifted confectioner’s sugar. Mix in cherry extract and desired milk until smooth.
  6. Once cooled, spread frosting on top and garnish with sprinkles.
