  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ⅔ cup soy sauce (light sodium)
  • ⅔ cup water
  • 4 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2½ tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1½ teaspoons toasted sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Marinate sliced chicken in water, Shaoxing vinegar, salt, baking soda, and cornstarch for 10 minutes.
  2. Whisk together soy sauce, water, sugar, and cornstarch to create the sauce.
  3. Stir-fry marinated chicken in a hot wok until browned; set aside.
  4. Sauté minced garlic and ginger before adding broccoli; cook until tender-crisp.
  5. Combine chicken and broccoli in the wok, pour in the sauce, and heat through for 2-3 minutes.
