  • 2 cans diced tomatoes (15-ounce)
  • 1 can tomato sauce (15-ounce)
  • 1 can tomato paste (6-ounce)
  • 2 cans kidney beans (15-ounce), drained and rinsed
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons onion powder
  • 3 tablespoons cumin
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chipotle powder
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large Dutch oven, sauté diced green peppers and onions until translucent.
  2. Stir in seasonings and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add ground meat and brown until just done.
  4. Pour in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, water, and tomato paste; stir well.
  5. Bring to a simmer over medium-low heat; cook for about 15 minutes before adding beans.
  6. Stir in baking soda; simmer until bubbly.
  7. Remove from heat and serve hot.
