- 3 green onions (chopped)
- 2 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 tbsp ginger (minced)
- 4 cups chicken/beef/vegetable broth
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 12 oz wontons
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- Chili oil (homemade or store-bought)
Instructions
- To make the chili oil, mix red pepper flakes, sesame seeds, minced garlic, minced ginger, sugar, salt, and optional cinnamon stick in a heat-safe bowl. Heat neutral oil until hot and pour it over the mixture. Stir and set aside.
- In a large pot over medium heat, melt coconut oil. Sauté the white and light green parts of green onions with minced ginger and garlic until fragrant.
- Pour in the broth, bring to a bubble, then lower heat to simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Add wontons along with soy sauce and optional rice vinegar. Simmer until heated through.
- Serve the soup garnished with dark green onion tops and drizzle generously with chili oil.
